I’ve been through many things…

I’ve been a prisoner of the Komu in the subterranean levels of Sky City, planet Nauthern. And I’ve been a guest in Sky City’s exclusive upper classes, levels 5000 on up, way up there above the clouds. I’ve ridden the underground train that goes out from Sky City into the farmlands, escaping from captivity and worse from one of the most ruthless gangs around. I’ve been trained—against my will, mind you—as an operative, a spy, by the Nation of Planets Intelligence Ministry. I’ve secretly journeyed to the shadow planet Eg, in search of the mother I never knew, almost becoming a prisoner there for life.

It all starts just after my 14th birthday…

when I realized that I’d become frustrated and sad and bored beyond all reason. I was alone, in that place called the Den, carved deep into the Fire Mountains on the planet Nauthorn, the same planet where Sky City is. The Den is extremely well-hidden, completely blending with the breathtaking rainbow-rocks landscape.

The Den was built by the Hermit…

The Hermit wasn’t really my father, but he was the only father I knew because he raised me. He was my best friend and teacher and playmate and sparring partner – well, he was just everything to me. We had to hide and there really wasn’t ever anyone else. When he was gone, it was awful because then there was just me. I guess you could call me Hermit Girl, since I inhabited the Den by myself, then.

Yes, that’s where it all begins…
